CHRIS CORNELL Quits Audioslave and Goes Solo
16 February 2007Chris Cornell (ex-Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog) announcedВ yesterday he is permanently departing Audioslave "due to irresolvable personality conflicts as well as musical differences".
In addition, the singer confirmed the release date of his second solo album, "Carry On", in stores May 1 on Suretone/Interscope.В Steered by British producer Steve Lillywhite (U2, Rolling Stones, Morrissey, Dave Matthews Band), the follow-up to Chris' first solo CD, 1999's "Euphoria Morning", shall consist of 14 tracks like "Safe and Sound", "Scar on the Sky", "Finally Forever", "Disappearing Act" and a slow cover of Michael Jackson's "Billy Jean". More personal selections includeВ "Ghost", "Arms Around Your Love", "She'll Never Be Your Man" and "Silence the Voices". Fans of Soundgarden and Audioslave will appreciate the harder edge of "No Such Thing", "Poison Eye" and the redemptive "Your Soul Today".
"Carry On" will also include the Top 10 European hit "You Know My Name", the main title song for the current James Bond movie "Casino Royale".
