"I chose to remix Ahat's song because of their hair styles!"

The Scotsman Howard Bernstein, best known as Howie B. (worked with a.o. U2, Tricky, Bjork), arrived in Sofia in late Ferbruary 2007 to present his very own remixed version of the classic Bulgarian rock track "The Black Sheep" by Ahat at a special DJ party...

Vassil Varbanov: Hey, Howie, how are you?

Howie B.: I'm really good today!

V. V.: Long time no see - it's been seven years...

H. B.: Yeah, in 1999 I came here to play. It was brilliant!

V. V.: For a country like Bulgaria and a city like Sofia, 7 years is a long period of time. You arrived here yesterday at noon, so you've been in town for 24 hours already. Do you see some changes or it's still the same?

H. B.: The last time I was here people were talking to me really friendly. What I mean is that I didn't see much of the city. I saw people, and they are the same - very funny, very talkative and... The love of beer is great here, I like it!

V. V.: This time you come to Bulgaria to present your remix of a very famous local rock track - "The Black Sheep" by Ahat. What grabbed you to choose it?

H. B.: The hair styles, ha-ha!

V. V.: Last night you met two of these guys, right?

H. B.: Just one, the guitarist (Antoan Hadat). He has fantastic hair!

V. V.: What were you talking about?

H. B.: Well, we talked a little bit about guitars, about why I did choose this track, and he's excited to listen to what I did...

V. V.: Do you still have dreams? I'm asking because I just woke you up...

H. B.: I dreamed about having a French!

V. V.: Are there any good girls around?

H. B.: There's been some gorgeous girls in my dreams.

V. V.: So what are your expectations for tonight?

H. B.: I'm really looking forward to it. I went to see the venue last night and it looks good, the other DJs coming from England are good... It's gonna be a rocking night in Sofia!
