U2 rocker's daughter beats cancer
11 November 2010The wife of U2 guitarist The Edge has described for the first time the "hell" the couple endured after their daughter was diagnosed with leukaemia.
The rocker's partner Morleigh Steinberg admits she was devastated when doctors told her that Sian, now 13 years old, had the life-threatening illness in 2006.
Steinberg says, "You're in shock then you just go into survival mode.
"The whole thing is hell but at the same time you stay positive and you really live. You live more because you don't want to take anything for granted."
The Irish group postponed a string of dates on their Vertigo tour after the guitarist, real name David Evans, received the news.
He took his daughter to receive treatment in Los Angeles and Dublin, Ireland and she has now made a good recovery.В В В
Steinberg adds: "She's through it and she's fine."
