After selling out Madison Square Garden in New York on Nov 16, Kings Of Leon moved 300,000 tickets in 48 hours recently, for U.K. shows slated for the spring of 2011.

The sold out dates in such large venues as Dublin’s Slane Castle (79,000 tickets sold out in less than hour) and London’s Hyde Park (a second night was added due to overwhelming public demand; KOL played a sold out show there this past June).

They also sold out Sunderland’s Stadium of Light, LCCC Stadium in Manchester, and Edinburgh’s Murrayfield, all 50,000 plus capacity stadiums.

The U.K. is where Kings Of Leon first began to gain traction and they remain one of the most popular rock touring acts there, as well as in Europe. In Europe, they will headline the upcoming Rock am Ring and Rock im Park festivals in Germany, the UK's Isle of Wight Festival, Rock Werchter Festival Belgium, Roskilde Festival Denmark, and Peace and Love Festival Sweden.

KOL publicity reps say the band’s previous album 'Only By the Night' has moved 6.5 million copies worldwide. The album has sold just over 2 million copies in the U.S., according to SoundScan.
