After dropping a Christmas single, asВ well as a first taste of theirВ forthcoming album Collapse Into Now, R.E.M. has released another new album track.

This one’s a lot easier to get through than Discoverer, and not even because it features Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder.

'It Happened Today' is reportedly scheduled to be the lead single from the new disc.

'Collapse Into Now' is produced by Garret "Jacknife" Lee (Snow Patrol, U2) and is going to be released on 7 March.

The other guest on the album is the great Patti Smith on a track called 'Blue'.
