The Flaming Lips expect to release a track a month during 2011.

The surreal psych rockers will start recording in mid-January with longtime producer Dave Fridmann, and they’ll aim to put out one song per month, rather than a full album.

Frontman Wayne Coyne told Rolling Stone: “The dilemma is whether we’re going to release it on vinyl, cereal boxes, or some of it on toys that we make. Sometimes, the music is the simplest part of any of these things”.

The band also intend to record videos, which will then be pieced together to make a full-blown movie.
