Klaxons' hilarious album cover for last year's Surfing The Void has won the Best Art Vinyl award.

The Best Art Vinyl is an award given out via public vote co-ordinated by Art Vinyl, a company that promotes record covers as art.

The artwork, which is pictured above, features a cat in an astronaut's suit.

Caribou's psychedelic cover for the Polaris Music Prize short listed Swim came in second in the poll. Dan Snaith wasn't the only Canadian who rated high, though. Arcade Fire's cover for The Suburbs was also nominated.

Klaxons' cover, Caribou's artwork for Swim and the cover of an EP released on Germany's Cadenza label — which was voted third in the poll — will be exhibited at the Georges House Gallery in Folkestone, England, London's O2 Arena and Edinburgh, Scotland's Arts Complex this month.
