Pat Padavona, the father of legendary heavy metal singer Ronnie James Dio, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2010 at Cortland Care Center in Cortland, New York. Pat, 92, was laid to rest on January 11 at St. Mary's Cemetery in Cortland.

He served his country during World War II. He enjoyed working with his hands, making many pieces of fine furniture and accent pieces.

Pat is survived by his daughter-in-law, Wendy Dio-Padavona, his brother Johnny, his grandson Danny and wife Terri Padavona, and his great-grandchildren Joey and Julia Padavona. Pat was pre-deceased by his wife Anna and his son Ronnie.

Ronnie James Dio died of stomach cancer on the morning of May 16, 2010 at the age of 67.
