Rush: Alex Lifeson to appear in indie film this fall
17 January 2011Alex Lifeson sure keeps busy.
During some down time from the band’s Time Machine tour, Rush guitarist Lifeson was filming a role in an independent movie that will debut in Toronto this fall.
Rushisaband.com reports Lifeson has a role in the new indie film, "Irvine Welsh's Ecstasy."
Toronto filmmaker Rob Heydon recently completed shooting for his feature film adaptation of Scottish author Irvine Welsh's book Ecstasy: Three Tales of Chemical Romance.
Lifeson will play the role of Dr. Michael Fig, a character created specifically for the film which does not appear in the book. Dr. Fig works in a mental hospital where Billy Boyd's character, Woodsy, is committed for a breakdown after consuming too much Ecstasy.
A video clip of Lifeson as Dr. Fig has been posted to the film's Facebook page HERE.
"Irvine Welsh's Ecstasy" is scheduled to debut at the Toronto International Film Festival in September.
