After winning a National Book Award for her non-fiction book, Just Kids, last year, punk poet Patti Smith is working on a detective story.

Apparently, she’ll be moving from writing about herself and Robert Mapplethorpe in New York City to a novel set in the U.K.

“I’ve been working on a detective story that starts at St. Giles-in-the-Fields in London for the last two years,” the singer/author said while speaking at the Royal Geographic Society in London recently.

Smith said the book was inspired by a previous visit to London, and a churchyard in particular. She joked that the book is “68 percent” done and that she’s always had a love for detective stories, including the Sherlock Holmes books and novels by Mickey Spillane.
