This May will mark a year since the world lost the great Ronnie James Dio, but tributes for the metal icon remain in full force. The latest and greatest to be announced comes in the form of a star-studded tribute album being put together by Dio’s late wife, Wendy.

While the project isn’t expected to see light until at least next year, the likes of the Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl, Judas Priest’s Rob Halford, Motörhead’s Lemmy, and Deep Purple’s Glenn Hughes have already been confirmed as contributors, reports NoiseCreep.com.

“Grohl will do the Black Sabbath hit ‘Mob Rules,’ and Halford will be taking on ‘Long Live Rock ‘n’ Roll,” Wendy Dio explained before noting that even more industry heavyweights will soon be added to the fold. “I just talked to Alice [Cooper], roped Alice in and Sebastian [Bach] and Chris [Jericho].”

Dio also added that she’ll likely fund the album through a benefit auction where several signed guitars and other items will be sold. We’ll post more details on both the auction and the album once they become available.
