Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore releasing Beck-produced solo album in May
15 March 2011Sonic Youth guitarist Thurston Moore will release his new solo album in May.
'Demolished Thoughts', Moore's third solo effort proper, was produced by Beck, who also contributed vocals to the tracks.
It will be released on May 23 in the UK and the following day in the US.
The pair recorded the album at Beck's home studio in Los Angeles and also worked on material in Northampton, Massachusetts.
The record also features contributions from violinist Samara Lubelski, harpist Mary Lattimore, bassist Bram Inscore and drummer Joey Waronker.
Moore has already said that 2011 will be a quiet year for Sonic Youth, stating that the band are "laying low and preparing to record some secret sides".
