Since Devo dished out their latest LP, Something For Everybody, last June, the pioneers who got scalped have carried out some peculiar yet effective things to hype said release. From the standard touring schedule to museum exhibitions and even throwing cat parties, nothing has been off limits in order to get the music to the people’s ears. The wackiness continues as the band premieres the interactive video for 'What We Do'.

The clip, available for the next 24 hours at this location, features the band and a cast of goofy characters dancing to and fro. While there’s nothing groundbreaking about having a good time, viewers can scan a full 360 degrees and see every angle of the video. Plus, if you find a particularly striking individual, the video allows you to focus on them and them alone! And if that weren’t enough, clicking on the character’s apparel links to Devo’s official store, thus making the act of vegging out and watching online videos actually productive.

According to video co-creator/band member Gerald Casale, “The user/viewer is the director in this video. They decide what to see and when to see it in real time. They will be able to navigate and save a version of what they think others should see. It’s like having a vote in Devo’s creative process. It’s truly interactive.”
And back to more traditional marketing ploys, the band will drop the What We Do: Electro-Devo Remix Cornucopia EP as a digital download on April 26th.
