American metal is all the better for The Rods, but the power trio which launched in the early 80’s never really made the impact that many thought their due.

The New York band comprising of Ronnie James Dio’s cousin, David “Rock” Feinstein (guitar/lead vocals), Garry Bordonaro (bass/vocals), and Carl Canedy (drums/vocals) made waves with their self titled debut album back in 1981 which lead to Iron Maiden inviting the band on their “Beast on the Road” Tour and further opening slots for, Twisted Sister, Judas Priest, Ozzy Osbourne (the ‘Blizzard of Oz’ tour), the Scorpions and Rainbow.

During the mid ’80s they even had a then-unknown Metallica open for them on their own headlining tour.

In a few weeks the band are back with a new album and a number of UK and European tour dates. 'Vengeance' releases May 24 and is their first studio offering in 25 years
