Polish Fans Thank JIMI HENDRIX With Guinness World Record Attempt
02 May 2011The Thanks Jimi festival in Wroclaw, Poland is an annual event for guitar players and fans of legendary guitarist JIMI HENDRIX.
Each year, festival goers attempt to beat the Guinness World Record for the largest guitar ensemble, with the Jimi Hendrix song 'Hey Joe'.
They won the prestigious title in 2009, with 6346 players, receiving the official Guinness World Records certificate last year.
This year though, they were more than 700 guitar players short, with 5601 people taking part.
Those joining in were mostly amateur players, but there were some special guests, including famous Polish and foreign guitarists.
This year one of the main stars was NEIL ZAZA - an American melodic instrumental guitarist.
