MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE have named DEATH BY STEREO’s Jarrod Alexander as their drummer for upcoming shows after Mike Pedicone was fired last week.

According to guitarist Frank Iero, Pedicone was fired after he was “caught red handed stealing from the band and confessed to police after our show last night in Auburn, Washington. We are heartbroken and sick to our stomachs over this entire situation.”

Iero went on to say, “The band has no intention of pressing charges or taking this matter any further than we have to. We just want him out of our lives. The people who play in this band are a family, and family should not take advantage of each other like he did.”

Pedicone also addressed the issue through his Twitter account: “What happened is more complicated than it sounds but I did make a mistake. It was never my intention to hurt this band or all of you. It was an error in judgement based on a whole other situation that’s way deeper but this does not define me”.

No word yet on whether Alexander will become a permanent member of the band. MCR have quite the rotating drum stool. The band’s original drummer was Matt Pelissier, who was replaced by Bob Bryar in 2004.

Bryar parted ways with the band in early 2010. Most of the drum tracks on their most recent album, Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys, were performed by Meat Loaf drummer John Miceli.
