U2 star Larry Mullen, Jr. has made his acting debut opposite Donald Sutherland in the English-language remake of acclaimed Patrice Leconte movie The Man On The Train.

The drummer's low-key debut as a leading man will open in U.S. theatres at the end of October.

In the film, the rock star plays a mysterious criminal who sets out to rob a small town bank, but his plans change when he meets a retired poetry professor, played by Sutherland.

Mullen, Jr. plays French pop star Johnny Hallyday's role from the 2002 original, while Sutherland takes over from Jean Rochefort.
