‘Crazy Clown Time’, Lynch's upcoming debut solo album featuring 14 original songs, will be released Nov. 8, the Los Angeles Times reports.

The album from Lynch, best known for directing features like Mulholland Drive and Blue Velvet, has been described as "modern blues" with the film and TV veteran playing the guitar.

“The love of experimenting with sound and music is what’s driving this boat,” Lynch said. “All of the songs on the album started as a jam. The jams eventually found a form and lyrics appeared.”

Lynch penned each of the album's songs. The Yeah Yeah Yeahs' Karen O provides vocals on one track.

“There were so many accidents," he said of how the songs came to be. "This album should be in the hospital.”

The filmmaker's David Lynch Foundation recently released a 33-track digital album, Download for Good: Music That Changes the World, that offers stress-reducing Transcendental Meditation to under-served populations. Maroon 5 and Moby were some of the artists included on the compilation.

Music isn't the only thing Lynch is working on; he has also collaborated with Duran Duran, Interpol and Danger Mouse. Set to open in the fall, Lynch designed a film-inspired nightclub called Club Silencio in Paris.
