The B-52s have released their first-ever live album, which captures the band almost 34 years to the day since their very first gig in their hometown of Athens, Georgia.

With the Wild Crowd was recorded in February 2011, just a few days after the anniversary of their debut show on Valentine’s Day, 1977.

The album contains classics such as “Love Shack,” “Rock Lobster,” “Roam,” “Whammy Kiss” and “Private Idaho,” as well as recent material from 2008’s Funplex such as “Pump,” “Hot Corner,” “Ultraviolet” and the title track. Guitarist and musical director Keith Strickland’s axe is right up front in the mix, linking the band’s newer material back to the group’s early days when Strickland was their drummer and the late Ricky Wilson wove his angular guitar magic.

The concert will be released on DVD and Blu-ray in 2012.
