It’s been two long years since the world has heard new music from metal crushers Lamb of God, but all that changes today. With their sixth full length album Resolution due out stateside on January 24th, 2012, the wait for fresh sounds concludes with the album’s lead single Ghost Walking.

True to form for LOG, the new track is a devastating attack upon the senses – but there are a few surprises in store for fans expecting more of the same. You can hear the song below:

While Lamb of God have always featured an evolving sound, many long time fans may still be shocked upon hearing the songs acoustic introduction. Have no fears as the finger plucked back porch melodies from lead guitarist Mark Morton quickly fade into the sheer absolute carnage LOG fans have grown to love right around the thirty second mark.

While the axe work of Morton and fellow guitarist Willie Adler is nothing short of impressive what stands out most on this track are the vocals of lead singer Randy Bltyhe. Somehow Blythe has managed to make his gravel-filled-bark sound more melodic while not losing an ounce of bite. While this new dynamic won’t bring Lamb of God to the mainstream, it does add another element to their already impressive assortment of musical weapons.
