Now this is an album title that clearly speaks for itself! Blood Tsunami are famous for the participation of legendary ex-Emperor, Zyklon and Aborym drummer Faust, but if you expect black metal, then take a look at the title again. It’s what it says: 50/50 Bay Area and German style, but proficiently taken to a new level in terms of production and music. These Norwegians are not going to be held responsible for resurrecting a genre, as the whole album proves to be individualistic in approach, with a thrash metal concept turned inside out in order to make it relevant for 2007. In other words, Blood Tsunami kept the essential core, but dissected very carefully everything else just to compile a brutal, very up-to-date vision of what thrash means right now. And these guys did a fantastic job. This album is constantly shredding its way through your brains, blasting with breakneck speed and intensity that can smash you against the wall and leave you breathless. This is a listening adventure in the end of which you will certainly be looking for your lost head. Not enough? Then let me tell you something else. Not many extreme bands - especially ones that feature former black metal drummers - can get away with a nearly 10-minutlong instrumental without being bashed by purists. To put it short, Blood Tsunami were very close to making a modern thrash metal masterpiece.
