Not only Municipal Waste matched the glories of their previous album “Hazardous Mutation” this time, but also made a huge leap into the territory considered dead and abandoned only a couple of years ago. Now the whole metal world seems to be shit-hot excited about the proclaimed thrash/crossover comeback. With thousands of new bands like Evile, S.S.S. and Gama Bomb ready to explode from all over the world, it’s an easy task to predict what is going to happen in the next months. Every single metalhead living next door is gonna M-O-S-H like a motherfucker. Well, it’s official now - Municipal Waste are guilty and responsible for bringing the fun back into quite depressing hairdo and eyeliner music of 2007. “The Art of Partying” is a superb record. Every song is an evil riff-monger, as you would expect from names like “Headbanger Face Rip”, “Beer Pressure” and “Septic Detonation”. Meanwhile, if your neck hurts, try “Thrashing Is My Business... and Business Is Good”, released as a bonus and named after…guess what and by whom. Sometimes (very rarely though) there are real harmonies in this album, capable of taking you out of the pit to chill out, giving you a hose-down, but then tracks like “Radioactive Force” throw you back into the falling bodies, switching seamlessly from slow D.R.I. parts to insane S.O.D. stricken mayhems. A great release! As I already said, it’s an important album to own in order to be well prepared for the things we expect to happen until the end of the year.
