We are pretty much convinced that that there’s no such human being in the world who hasn’t heard of MOTÖRHEAD. Still, if there is such person, then the better half of him must have been spilled on his mother’ arse. Ladies and gentlemen, lock up your daughters. They are not safe any more. MOTÖRHEAD are back! ‘The World is Yours’ is their 20th studio album, but as Lemmy himself says, albums don’t matter much. They just don’t. What’s inside is of a greater importance. And that’s it, pure rock’n’roll that smells of gasoline. Hardly anyone expected MOTÖRHEAD to change the musical formula just because we’re on the verge of 2011. They don’t. Soon after the opener От (‘Born To Lose’) it becomes clear that ‘The World is Yours’ is a typical album. The don’t-give-a-damn attitude of ‘I Know How to Die’, the boogie rhythm of ‘Get Back in Line’ and the confession of ‘Rock’n’Roll Music’ – all of them just enhance this impression. And then, out of the blue, immediately when you pass the first half, comes the surprise (I’m not sure whether or not we can use this term about MOTORHEAD). The longest track on the CD, ‘Brotherhood of Man’, over 5 minutes, is like ‘Orgasmatron’, only updated. This is also the only reminder that once this band was considered a part of the heavy metal world. Nowadays, God’s band stays beyond any terms and genres. Naturally, those days of creative potency are gone and we don’t expect a new ‘Bomber’ or even a new ‘1916’. We are enjoying the treat of hearing something new. MOTÖRHEAD are valued by all and they can do whatever the fuck they want to do. They can even release their album through the British magazine ‘Classic Rock’. Whay not? We are expecting to see a movie about God after all, aren’t we? And we don’t have the right to criticize. Who do we think we are to do this?
