SEVEN TEARS In Every Frozen Tear (2007)
14 December 2007
Fresh debuts are released so rarely lately, that when this happens it is compulsory to accept them with open consciousness and positive set. Seven Tears are representatives of a minority of young bands that succeeded to find the right formula for creating a firstborn album. We can not be indifferent to “In Every Frozen Tear”, because it serves us an encouraging dose of melodic progressive metal, which will help you forget - at least for a while - about the tons of other heavy music.
The most important elements for a successful product of such kind are available in the album. The young Swedish musicians are doing a great job on their instruments. With his charismatic presence and soft timbre vocalist Zoran is showing up, and the production made with the help of his colleagues is surprisingly good.
Seven Tears’ music is similar to the one you’ve probably heard already from other deputies of the genre. All constants of melodic progressive metal are kept here - breezy guitar modulations, easy melodies for remembering, thick bass sound. Their traditional use in “In Every Frozen Tear” will not impress you, but in will hold your attention a unique way… or at least it’s very likely to make it. The album has an attractive power which makes the listener play it again and again.
There is no need for more praise. We can generalize that Seven Tears do not make anything original and new, but with the help of well-tried formulas and clear strategy about their sounding they send the album straight to the top of the debut charts. I’m sure that every metal fan needs such kind of uninvolving music to relax on.
