The seminal Sofia hardcore unit - VENDETTA are together again and will play at the Hate City 2009 festival in Sofia this weekend!

WHY DID YOU GUYS SPLIT UP FOUR YEARS AGO AND ACTUALLY, WHAT IS MORE IMPORTANT – WHY ARE YOU GETTING BACK TOGETHER NOW?
Marin: The thing is that we didn’t split up. We just stopped to be active at some point! But we kept in touch and we simply didn’t have the possibility to keep the band running, the was we used to.  So we took a break, you know how it is – life goes on…there was no other way.

Delyan is back in town now! So we got back all together again. We are all at the same place now, we can sea each other much more often. And in fact this is something that each of us has always  been wating for. Because none of us ever said “Nah, don’t wanna do this shit anymore!”  We tried some things to see how it works. We did three-four, maybe five new songs. Some of them are not quite ready, but we have two that are totally done. We’re going to play them at the gig on Satuday.

We decided to give it a try. We don’t promote it as a REUNION or something, you know. The return of a legend kind of thing. Well. You know us, let the things simply happen!

YEAH, BUT IT’S A REUNION AFTER ALL, MORE OR LESS...
Marin: Yeah!

SINCE YOU HAVEN’T BEEN ACTIVE FOR FOUR YEARS...
Marin: Yeah yeah..

BUT DURING THIS PERIOD THERE WAS STILL A.D.I.M.  THE BAND OF MORE THEN 90% OF VENDETTA’S MEMBERS....
Marin: You should call this a side project. The idea for it was, that it was giving us more freedom to do whatever we like because it didn’t have the responsibility and the pressure of being a Vendetta material. Because the band got to be quite important at some stage.

We could really do whatever we wanted under the moniker of A.D.I.M. and we also tryied different things, like experimenting with more different songs etc.

Part of the new material was written during this period, but we worked on them again to give them a more Vendetta touch. But we still have these brand new Vendetta songs. We are even palnning to open the gig on Saturday with one of them. Surprisingly it’s called ‘Vendetta’ and was written by all six of us!

LET’S GO BACK TO THE YEAR 2005 WHEN YOU DECIDED TO TAKE VACATION. YOU DIDIN’T ANNOUNCE THIS OFFICIALLY, SO THERE WERE GOSSIPS RUNNING ALL OVER THE PLACE...THERE WASN’T ANY PERSONALY TENSION BETWEEN YOU GUYS I HOPE?
Marin: Of course not, As we said before, we were 90 % of the band still working with A.D.I.M. And if the reason was to simply get rid of Shuta, we could still use the Vendetta name without him. The only reason was we didin’t feel like doing anything under this band name if we were not all together. We couldn’t just spit on the band. We used to give 100 % to Vendettam, but back then in 2005 we came to the point we couldn’t afford it anymore, so we put it on hold, to give it a rest. There was no Rest in Peace kind of thing though, ha ha ha.

So we are thinking now to write nmore new material and to record a new album. But I can’t say when or how. What is true is that we have brand new songs – it’s a fact.

SO OBVIOUSLY THIS IS NOT A THREE-FOUR CONCERTS COMEBACK?
Marin: No. It’s not like after the concerts in Turkey, Greece, Mecadonia and the one in Sofia that we’ll be off. We are planning to go further, but where this thing is going to lead us, I don’t know. We have families now and with kids. So we have different kinds of responsibilities now....

SO YOU CAN’T PROMISE ANYTHING?...
All of us are eager to do a new record, so maybe we’ll do it. And we will be keeping the band alive. Well, probably it won’t be the non-stop madness it used to be.

But you have to keep in mind that Vendetta is an underground band, we are not signed to any label so so we have the freedom to do whatever we want.

TELL US MORE ABOUT THE NEW SONGS, IS THIS A KIND OF BACK TO THE ROOTS THING?
Marin: Well, it’s us! It’s hardcore and metal and with hip-hop influеnces.
