GRAVE DIGGER posted an update on the band's activities for 2012, which includes a new album tentatively scheduled for August 2012, as well as a tour of Brazil with country mates Blind Guardian. In a post on Facebook, singer Chris Boltendahl stated:

"Since last November we work on brand new songs. 10 compositions are completely done and already in pre-production. Once more song is in work. Also a cover version of a male, "not heavy metal artist," is going to be finished within the next days. Don't worry, it won't [be] another German "Schalger" song...

"It will be 150% pure Grave Digger metal. Again we transfered the spirit of the 80['s] into the sound of 2012. Beginning mid of March, we start recording the new masterpiece, again [at] the Principal Studios/Munster, and it should be finish[ed] by end of May.

"The cover is also done..,focusing again [on] our 'Reaper.' In April, we'll tour Brazil for
some more shows with our friends from Blind Guardian.

"The release of the new album is scheduled for August 2012."

The album will be the band's first since the 2010 LP 'The Clans Will Rise Again.'
