AC/DC shook Iran all night long
25 July 2012A computer virus that infected nuclear establishments in Iran forced machines to play AC/DC hit track Thunderstruck at full volume, claims an expert.
Mikki Hypponen of Finnish security firm F-Secure says he received a number of alert messages from the Atomic Energy Organisation or Iran, Gawker reports.
One email said: “Our nuclear program has once again been compromised and attacked by a worm which has shut down our network at Natanz and Fordo. The automation network and hardware were shut down.
“There was also some music playing randomly during the middle of the night with the volume maxed out. I believe it was Thunderstruck by AC/DC.”
Hypponen, a renowned virus expert, says he’s verified the messages came from the organisation.
