The veteran musician has been leading up to the release of the 'Hell Broke Luce' video for a week, teasing fans with a trio of images plastered with "Coming August 7" that wound up being video stills.

Press speculation over the images, which arrived via equally cryptic emails, ranged from hopes for a U.S. tour to a Waits concert cruise, prompted by the subject line "Tom Waits: Permission to Come Aboard" and the pirate-themed images.

Waits last toured the U.S. in 2008, a trek documented on live set 'Glitter and Doom.'

Instead, the video for 'Hell Broke Luce' is the latest from Waits' 2011 album 'Bad As Me.'

The stylized, politically driven footage finds Waits towing a house and walking between shark-like submarines in an aquatic war zone, with direction from photographer Matt Mahurin.
