SLASH wants muppet show guest spot
14 August 2012SLASH would love the chance to appear on kids’ TV show Sesame Street – but he’s not sure he’s a good enough role model to be invited.
The former Guns n’Roses guitarist, who’s just started work on writing material for his third solo album, would relish the chance to work with muppets on the award-winning educational series, which is about to enter its 43rd year of broadcasting.
SLASH tells Rip It Up:
“Sesame Street have never approached me, although I would love to do it. I love kids.
“There’s no way I’d ever turn it down – but I don’t know if parents would think I’m the best public influence on little kids.”
Meanwhile, GnR have announced they’ll play a series of 12 shows during a residency in the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, starting on October 31 and ending on November 24.
Axl Rose and co will appear in a show named Appetite For Democracy, spanning the band’s entire career and showcasing their biggest hits, with producers promising “surprise elements” and vowing: “This is unlike any show the band has ever done, or will ever do again.”
They become the second band to settle in the Vegas location after Motley Crue played a series of 12 shows during February.
