ANATHEMA - BEST PROG LIVE EVENT in the UK
10 September 2012Rick Wakeman, Genesis, Steven Wilson, Rush and Anathema (pictured above) were among the winners at the first Progressive Music Awards, held last week in Kew Gardens, London.
Some of the biggest names in prog turned up for the event, including Genesis, Asia, ELP, The Moody Blues, Roxy Music, Marillion, Steve Hackett, Fish, It Bites and Anathema.
The event was hosted by Gavin Esler of Newsnight. It’s the first time that the genre has been celebrated in such a fashion. As Wakeman himself said: “It’s about time prog got the respect it deserves for the way it’s created, and continues to create, some of the most important music around”.
FISH and ANATHEMA will meet again next week playing on the two consecutive nights of the Sounds of the Ages festival at the Roman theater in Plovdiv - Bulgaria.
FISH and his band will headline the first night - 21 September (Friday) and will go on stage for the first time with an Orchestra for several songs.
ANATHEMA are hitting the stage on 22 Septembe (Saturday) with the power of the orchestra.
