The Rolling Stones will release a brand new single, 'Doom and Gloom', on Thursday.

The band has announced that the song will receive its world premiere at 8.15am (BST) on BBC Radio 2 before being available to download at digital retailers.

The track is taken from the Stones’ forthcoming greatest hits album, 'GRRR!'

Due November 12 worldwide (November 13 in North America), 'GRRR!' will be available in five different formats, including a three-CD 50-track version and a four-CD super-deluxe version that includes 80 songs.

The collection follows the history of The Stones, from their first single, 1963’s cover of Chuck Berry’s 'Come On', through hits like 'The Last Time,' '(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction,' 'Get Off Of My Cloud,' 'Jumping Jack Flash,' 'Honky Tonk Women,' and concert staples 'Brown Sugar,' 'Tumbling Dice,' 'Miss You' and 'Start Me Up.'

'GRRR!' will also feature two new songs - 'Doom And Gloom' and 'One Last Shot' – recorded last month in Paris.

The tracks mark the first time Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood have all been together in the recording studio since completing 2005’s 'A Bigger Bang' album.
