NICK OLIVERI Is Also on the New QOTSA Record
29 November 2012Coming not too long after the amazing news that Dave Grohl and Trent Reznor were set to appear on the upcoming QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE album, a post on Mondo Generator’s Facebook earlier today made it quite clear and simple: that band’s frontman, Nick Oliveri, will make a return to QOTSA via a song on their new album. The update stated:
“NEWS: Nick has re-joined Kyuss, and has recently recorded his vocals on a new Queens of the Stone Age song! Stay tuned.”
Oliveri previously played bass and sang for QOTSA until 2004, when some turmoil got him fired from the band.
After all these years, it’s nice to see that Nick Oliveri and QOTSA frontman Josh Homme are finally working together on some extent – though a reader reminds us that Homme was featured on a Mondo Generator track this year, already hinting at what could come in the future.
The other bit of surprising news comes from the fact that Oliveri has re-joined Kyuss Lives!, after the legal shitstorm that went on earlier this year. Though the bassist claimed that getting into a court battle with a band is a way to ensure that they will “never” play together again, it seems that he’s back on the group.
