FALL OUT BOY have landed again. As previously reported by Property of Zack (and denied by the band), the pop-punk juggernaut will release a new single today on iTunes, titled 'My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up).'

That precedes an album, Save Rock and Roll, which will come out globally on May 6-7, the 10th anniversary of debut album Take This to Your Grave.

The announcement of FALL OUT BOY's first new studio album since 2008's Folie Á Deux coincides with a sneak-attack offering of club shows.

In a statement, the band effectively says don't call this a comeback, because they've been here for years.

"When we were kids the only thing that got us through most days was music," the group explains. "It’s why we started Fall Out Boy in the first place. This isn't a reunion because we never broke up. We needed to plug back in and make some music that matters to us."

That said, at one point FALL OUT BOY's "hiatus" sure started to look like a "breakup."

In February 2010, frontman Patrick Stump told SPIN, "I'm not in Fall Out Boy anymore" and said the band might not play again. And members of the band have been busy with no shortage of non-FOB projects, as we detailed last summer.

So what does 'My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up)' sound like? FALL OUT BOY with a dash of Linkin Park and Adam Lambert (yes, seriously).
