ANNIHILATOR mainman Jeff Waters has revealed that CHILDREN OF BODOM frontman Alexi Laiho asked him to play on the next COB album; recording is set to take place next week.

CHILDREN OF BODOM are currently holed up in the studio working on their as yet untitled eighth album.

Alexi Laiho (vocals/guitars) revealed the band is recording a few cover songs, as is COB tradition with each album:

"We will be doing our versions of songs by BANANARAMA and ROXETTE, and a track chosen for us by the readers of the Japanese magazine Burrn."

No word yet as to whether the covers will appear on the album or be released as B-sides during the album cycle.

A summer release date via Nuclear Blast Records is expected.
