SABBATH’s 13 makes Number One
17 June 2013Black Sabbath’s new album 13 has made Number One in the UK album charts.
It’s the first time Ozzy Osbourne and co hit the top spot since 1970′s Paranoid – meaning they now hold the world record for the longest time between Number One hits.
13, appropriately, sold 13,000 more than runner-up Beady Eye, fronted by former Oasis loudmouth Liam Gallagher.
Ozzy says: “I’m in shock. The success of this album has blown me off my feet. We’ve never hard a record climb the charts so fast.”
Rod Stewart, whose new album Time is at Number Three this week, previously held the UK’s longest-gap record with 37 years. Bob Dylan was the former overall holder at 38 years.
And this is the BLACK SABBATH WEEK on radio TANGRA MEGA ROCK.
