LEMMY Suffers Hematoma - MOTORHEAD Cancels Concerts
25 June 2013Motorhead bassist and singer Lemmy Kilmister has reportedly suffered a hematoma that has forced the band to cancel two European concerts.
Although Motorhead didn’t give a reason when they apologized for having to cancel their scheduled June 25 performance in Milan, Italy, the promoter of the show broke the news via Facebook.
They also bowed out of Saturday’s (June 22) concert at Austria’s See-Rock Festival.
According to WebMD, a hematoma is “a collection of blood outside of a blood vessel. It occurs because the wall of a blood vessel wall, artery, vein or capillary, has been damaged and blood has leaked into tissues where it does not belong.”
Now before your mind runs away with you, keep in mind they also say that hematomas “may be tiny, with just a dot of blood or it can be large and cause significant swelling.” We don’t know the location or the intensity of the hematoma Kilmister reportedly endured.
This is the second piece of troubling health news to emerge regarding Lemmy in the past week. Just five days ago we learned that he has been fitted with a defibrillator to help with undisclosed heart problems. We trust you’ll join us in wishing Kilmister a quick and full recovery.
