MOBY’s New Album to Feature Mark Lanegan and Wayne Coyne
08 July 2013Despite great success in the late 1990s and the early 2000s, MOBY’s noteworthiness seemed to suddenly melt away sometime after the release of his sixth studio album, 18, in 2002.
Since then, he has continued to release myriad full-length LPs, most of them to favorable reception from the musical world, yet all in all, he has yet to replicate even the slightest bit of the attention he had in the early years of his career.
MOBY’s forthcoming record, Innocents, however, is already being billed as the artist’s comeback album.
Announced just a few days ago on his website, Innocents features collaborations with Wayne Coyne, Mark Lanegan (with whom he previously worked on The Lonely Night), as well as Damien Jurado and Skylar Gray.
It is set to be released on October 1st, and was produced by Mark “Spike” Stent, who is known chiefly for his engineering work with Muse, Bjork, Massive Attack, and Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
A great little track from the record called A Case for Shame was also released alongside the announcement, and it is quite, quite beautiful.
