The children of PINK FLOYD star Dave Gilmour are set to appear in the new series of Downton Abbey.

The guitarist's youngest two children, 16-year-old son Gabriel and 11-year-old daughter Romany, have apparently landed roles as extras on ITV1's hit period drama.

The new series of Downton Abbey will air on ITV1 this autumn, though the show's return date has yet to be confirmed.

Downton Abbey premiered on ITV1 in 2010 and has gone on to become a major international smash. Over 120 million viewers worldwide are now estimated to have watched the series.
