AUDIO: Rare EDDIE VAN HALEN solo track surfaces
06 December 2013A rare 1983 Eddie Van Halen solo track, 'All Fired Up', has surfaced.
The Van Halen News Desk reports the song was written and performed by Eddie as part of the musical score from the movie, 'The Wild Life.'
The guitarist wrote the full musical score for the film, which was written by Cameron Crowe (“Almost Famous”).
'The Wild Life' stars Chris Penn, Eric Stoltz, Lea Thompson and others as teenagers living and partying in the suburbs of Los Angeles.
According to the fan site, director Art Linson wanted a piece of music that would play in the background of a crazy, rowdy house party, and 'All Fired Up' is what Eddie delivered.
In the movie, viewers can hear only sections of the track, obscured by the loud party.
Parts of 'All Fired Up' were later re-used for 'A.F.U.(Naturally Wired)', a track that appeared on Van Halen’s 1988 album, 'OU812.'
One Eddie Van Halen song from the movie, 'Donut City', was included on the film’s soundtrack album.
