CONVERGE’s NEWTON To Join CAVALERA CONSPIRACY
03 January 2014Having recently joined Napalm Records to release their new album, Cavalera Conspiracy, the group comprised of brothers Max and Iggor Cavalera (both ex-Sepultura and Max currently in Soulfly) have announced that they will be joined by Converge‘s Nate Newton.
Newton will assume all bass duties for the band’s new album expected to be out sometime next year.
Newton went to Converge‘s Facebook page to comment on the collaboration and quell any possible rumors that he’s leaving the Boston hardcore outfit:
"Hello friends! Just wanted to get some info to everyone since I’ve been getting so many messages…. Yes I am playing bass on the new Cavalera Conspiracy record.
No…I am not going to leave Converge. I thought it would be fun to play with the guys who wrote some of my favorite metal records. That’s all…no big story here other than it’s pretty awesome when people who’s music you’ve admired for years ask you to be a part of it with them. I’m honored! – Nate"
