Legendary Ministry mastermind Al Jourgensen, who helped pioneer the industrial rock movement, has announced that he is checking into a rehab facility on Feb. 3 to combat his alcohol abuse.

The rock frontman, who has infamously battled addictions to drugs and alcohol throughout his career, announced the news via a series of colorful Facebook posts.

In one post dated Jan. 18, Jourgensen revealed, “I’ve just been informed I will be checking in on Feb 3….so I can get s–tfaced watching the Super Bowl on the 2nd.”
 
He followed that up with this message: “My sobriety will not and I repeat not knock off my sarcasm…if anything….it will intensify….I appreciate the support from my brother and family…..kicked dope and crack by myself…but I need help on this one….so all your thoughts and prayers are more than welcome……thanx!”

Showing that his sarcasm is still very much in tact, Jourgensen wrote on the next day (Jan. 19), “F— that douchebag Dennis Rodman one upped me … he checked into rehab today….I have to wait till Feb. 3.”

Ministry unleashed what Jourgensen claims to be their last album ever, ‘From Beer to Eternity,’ this past September. The year 2013 also saw Jourgensen release his acclaimed autobiography, ‘Ministry: The Lost Gospels According to Al Jourgensen,’ co-written by music journalist Jon Wiederhorn.
