Listen: JOHNNY CASH’s lost duet with WAYLON JENNINGS
13 February 2014As previously reported, Out Among the Stars is the name of an unreleased JOHNNY CASH album dating back to mid-1980s.
As the story goes, Columbia Records hoped to rejuvenate CASH’s career by sending him to work with Nashville producer Billy Sherrill.
However, when CASH left Columbia in 1985, the album was shelved and forgotten until CASH’s son John Carter Cash found the tapes in his parents’ home.
Two decades later, Out Among the Stars will finally see light on March 25th through Columbia/Legacy.
Our first listen of the freshly unearthed record came from the ballad 'She Used to Love Me A Lot', and now another track has been revealed.
'I’m Moving On' is a rollicking rendition of Hank Snow’s classic song, featuring support from the equally extolled Waylon Jennings.
Take a listen to the duet below.
