FISHBONE ordered to pay injured fan $1.4M
17 February 2014American rockers FISHBONE have been ordered to pay a woman injured in a stage diving incident at one of their gigs $1.4 million.
The group was performing a show at Philadelphia's World Cafe Live in 2010, when frontman Dr. Madd Vibe, real name Angelo Moore, jumped into the crowd and landed on Kimberly Myers, breaking her skull and collarbone.
She subsequently sued the frontman and his band and was recently awarded damages.
Announcing her ruling on Wednesday, U.S. District Judge Jan DuBois noted Myers lost consciousness but the band continued to perform "as if nothing had happened".
She accused Moore of showing little remorse after the incident and appearing to enjoy the band's dangerous reputation.
The judge also stated that despite the fact the band has been sued in the past over similar gig injuries, Moore continues to stage dive at concerts.
