Black Sabbath have confirmed their first-ever appearance at London’s Hyde Park – they’ll headline the British Summer Time festival on July 4.

They’re to be joined by Soundgarden, Faith No More, Motorhead and many others at what will the opening show of a 10-day multi-genre extravaganza.

Organisers have renamed the first night Black Sabbath Time in honour of the headline act. And frontman Ozzy Osbourne says he’s delighted to return to London after a whirlwind year that saw them reclaim their heavy metal throne with award-winning album 13.

Tickets go on general sale on Friday, April 4, with presales taking place for Barclaycard customers tomorrow (Monday) and via promoters AEG on Wednesday.

Neil Young has been confirmed as headline act on July 12 and McBusted will close the show on July 6. Many more announcements will be made in due course.
