This is the KULTUR SHOCK week on radio TANGRA MEGA ROCK.

Few words from KULTUR SHOCK about their new record 'IX'.

Our new record 'IX' consists of nine songs, it's our ninth release, and we have chosen the “restrictive” vinyl format along with the traditional CDs, digital download and digital streaming for it. Being 'restrictive' is a good thing- it made us weed out the half- baked, not quite interesting ideas, and demand the best of ourselves within these 36 minutes of music.

On 'IX', we sing in English and Serbian- Bosnian- Croatian, with singer Gino Yevdjevich being the guilty one for all the lyrics on this album. He did a fantastic job representing band's ideas about love, aging, NSA, homophobia, the meaning of home, social justice, substance abuse, the vile aspects of the “cool” and “uncool” mass media, and even death and dyeing. Sounds schizophrenic? It's not.

The music on this album is a free of restrictions on the stylistical jumble that we feel very comfortable with. It expresses honestly our different views and esthetics, while it somehow sounds like all six of us together. And yes, we did have all the fun one can have in the process while writing, recording and mixing. And few really quality fights, of course.

We have taken the purist approach to this record. No programming of any kind was used, just humans playing music. In the same time, we have decided to address the “loudness war”. The album is mastered to compliment the sounds and performances and it is optimized for best listening experience. Not as loud as band “XYZ”? Turn the volume knob up.

We invited some very special guests, too. Our own Mario Butkovich (an ex- KS since 2008) played an electric bouzouki on “Unamerikan” and “Aksam”. Krist Novoselic delivered accordeon and bass, and Jack Endino, providing percussion, to back up Gino's vocal performance on “S One Starne Plive”.

“IX” was financed by the band with the huge financial help from our fans, friends and hard core supporters. It will be available for FREE digital download via www.soundcloud.com/kulturshoc k in full audio format on November 11th, along with availability on all common streaming and download services.

Hard copies - CDs and vinyl, could be purchased through our website at www.kulturshock.com as of January 13th, 2015. Proceeds from those will finance future recording.

We are going to kick off the tour presenting the new record with a show in Seattle on January 10th, 2015. Selected North American dates and a Europe- wide tour are following in February and March 2015. Stay tuned for updates.
