DREAM THEATER frontman James LaBrie is the subject of a new article published by Simcoe.com. An excerpt is available below:

LaBrie, who has sold nearly 15 million albums in his career, will appear at the Midland Cultural Centre Jan. 14. He will be in the spotlight as a guest of the ongoing “A Day in the Life” conversation series.

LaBrie said he doubts there will be anything too scandalous revealed about his rock ’n’ roll history, other than Dream Theater’s original drummer leaving in 2010 in a less-than-amicable split. Most recently, LaBrie finished a Dream Theater world tour of North America, South America, Europe, Asia and the Pacific Rim, and Australia. The band will head back into the studio in February to create its next album, which he said he expects to be released next fall.

Although Dream Theater has never done a concert in Midland, it has played Barrie. It was a treat seeing high school friends cheering for him in the crowd, he said.

“It’s a reflection on your roots. You’re reminded of where you came from.”

Dream Theater recently checked in with the following update:

"Enjoy The Ride Records just informed us that they are down to the final couple hundred copies of their limited edition 2 color swirl with splatter 2 x LP with gatefold jacket vinyl re-issue of both Awake and Falling Into Infinity. These will not be re-pressed and will surely become a holy grail for Dream Theater fans and collectors in the future.

The web exclusive variants are also the lowest numbers, being hand numbered 1-1000. Grab one for yourself or a loved one before they are gone. These were remastered specifically for vinyl and not only look fantastic but sound amazing as well."
