New York punk trio THE JON SPENSER BLUES EXPLOSION  have announced a new album titled Freedom Tower - No Wave Dance Party 2015 (that's the cover up above), and have shared a music video for the album's lead single 'Do The Get Down,' which you can check out below.

According to Pitchfork, the album is set for release on March 24 through Mom + Pop, and is a concept album about New York City, "a chronicle of grit and terror and love."



The video for the hip-hop-influenced 'Do The Get Down,' edited by Allen Cordell, is an homage to the legacy of New York City, and features images of such legendary NYC musicians as Talking Heads, Jay-Z, The Ramones, Lou Reed, Sonic Youth, The Wu-Tang Clan, Television, and more.

The video also features images from classic NYC-set films such as Taxi Driver and Permanent Vacation. You can check out the video for 'Do The Get Down' right here:

 

Freedom Tower - No Wave Dance Party 2015 will be the THE JON SPENSER BLUES EXPLOSION's tenth studio album overall, their first since 2012's Meat + Bone.
