Neil Young has won the Artist Of The Year gong at the Americana Honours And Awards.

The singer-songwriter, 60, won plaudits this year for his anti-Bush album ‘Living With War’, which he famously recorded in a matter of weeks after being challenged to return to his radical roots.

Other winners at the bash in Nashville – the fifth annual country, folk and bluegrass awards ceremony – included James McMurty, who picked up Best Song and Best Album for ‘We Can’t Make It Here Anymore’.
