MORRISSEY has, at least partially, given up the music business to become a writer. The singer already had his memoir, Autobiography, become a big hit around the world and, next month, he will become a fiction writer with his first novel, List of the Lost.

The first word of the release comes from the MORRISSEY mouthpiece site, www.truetoyou.com:

Morrissey's first novel, List of the Lost, will be published by Penguin Books (UK) at the end of September. The book will be issued in softcover/paperback as a New Fiction title, and comes almost two years after Morrissey's very successful Autobiography publication of October 2013.

Penguin Books will confirm an on sale date within this coming week. List of the Lost will be available in the UK, Ireland, Australia, India, New Zealand and South Africa.

19 months ago he spoke about his discontent with the music business. 'In 2013 I published my Autobiography and it has been more successful than any record I have ever released, so, yes, I am mid-way through my novel. I have my hopes.

'The actuality is that radio stations will not play my music, and the majority of people have lost faith in the music industry, and it's generally assumed ' quite rightly ' that the number one chart positions are 'bought' by the major labels, so there really is no passion left in pop or rock music, and I don't think people believe for an instant that the faces we constantly see on television and in magazines are remotely popular.'
