IGGY POP & JOSH HOMME team up for ‘Post Pop Depression’ album
22 January 2016Oh, that Josh Homme, with all of his secret projects. The Queens Of The Stone Age frontman apparently got together with Iggy Pop last January and started co-writing and recording between Joshua Tree and Pink Duck. They now have an album ready to go, called Post Pop Depression, featuring Dean Fertita of QOTSA & The Dead Weather, Arctic Monkeys drummer Matt Helders, and guests including (at least) Troy Van Leeuwen and Matt Sweeney.
The album is set for a release this March. The band will also play some shows, though Homme says they’re being very selective with the venues, carefully picking only the coolest places. “There won’t be hardly any shows, and they won’t be in big places, and you won’t be able to get a ticket,” he told the New York Times in an in-depth coming-out piece published this morning. “So almost everyone won’t see it. It will be like trying to catch smoke in your hands. And that makes it even better. It will be special, and it will be over in the blink of an eye.”
